Ear Correction Surgery at Fitzwilliam Hospital
Ear correction surgery (otoplasty) creates ears that look more natural and proportional to your face. It can change the position, shape and size of your ears, often to reduce their prominence.
Ears can be a source of embarrassment if they stick out too much, are disproportional to the size of your face or, are misshapen. Both men and women who are unhappy with their ears may choose an otoplasty and this may improve their self-esteem.
Whilst under general anaesthetic, your cosmetic surgeon will carry out ear correction surgery. They will make a small cut behind your ear to allow the adjustment and removal of your ear cartilage. Surgery normally takes up to two hours. Any scars will be hidden behind your ears.
