Liposuction at Fitzwilliam Hospital
Liposuction is also known by a variety of other names including liposculpture, lipoplasty, lipectomy, or lipo. It’s a popular cosmetic surgery that aims to improve your body contours.
Often fat pockets in the stomach, back, thighs, hips, bum, upper arms and male chest can be stubborn, refusing to shift through diet and exercise alone. Men and women with these resistant pockets of fat may decide to have liposuction to break up and suck out this fatty tissue.
Liposuction uses a hollow instrument known as a cannula that is inserted under your skin and a powerful vacuum removes the fat. One area or multiple areas can be treated at one time. It’s performed under general anaesthetic and may take 30 minutes up to three hours, based on how many areas you are having treated.
